You can integrate black in your wardrobe as an autumn by combining it with something in your color range, as you can with white. Black and white is somewhat more difficult.
I myself usually try to avoid the black and white look. Neither black nor white is in my color range as an autumn type. Apart from that the contrast is too high for me.
Even though the contrast you can find in my personal colors is quite high, it is not as high as in some winter types who can wear the black and white combination best.
Combining black and white as an autumn type
Even though combining black and white as an autumn type is a challenge, I do have a dress and shoes in black and white. (And I will search my wardrobe, to see if I find more black and white! But most of it already found its way into my mum’s closet; she loves the black and white look.)
To make it work for me, I paired it with gold: My rings and bracelet are golden, so is a part of the decoration on my Bruno Magli shoes.
The weather forecast said it could get colder during the day, so I bring an extra cardigan. The cardigan is in my autumn color range and even in my eye color – brown – so it definitely helps put the outfit together.
Classic and modern fashion personality
If you have a modern or classic fashion personality, you will probably wanting to wear black and white, at least sometimes. Black and white looks very elegant and you can create edgy and fresh looks with it.
Alternatives to black and white as an autumn color type
An alternative black and white look for autumn types is to combine a black bottom with an off white or crème colored shirt and jacket. Or rather than true black, go for a charcoal skirt or trouser which is not as harsh.
If you want to stay true to your color range as an autumn, go for a dark brown and off white shirt.
White top and black bottom – perfect for a pear shaped
The top is much lighter than the bottom which helps to create balance for a pear shaped body. Apart from that, the ruffles add volume right where I need it: at my chest and shoulders. Yay!
This is why bought even though black and white as an autumn type is a challenge.
The dress is really sexy for a pear shaped and it is a pity that I have only worn it once since I bought it 3 years ago. My boyfriend did not even see it yet and was positively shocked when I put it on. I will use this as a motivation to wear it more often.
